DAY 1: The Journey Begins - Lima, Peru Arrive in Lima, Peru, founded in 1535 by the Spanish Conquistador, Francisco Pizarro; meet your Private Guide and transfer by Private Car to your deluxe hotel.
DAY 2: Treasures and Pleasures of Lima Morning Private Visit to the renowned Larco Herrera Museum, personally guided by Andres Alvarez Calderon, Museum Director and grandson of its founder.* Then, tour the historical center of Lima, (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Lunch at Malabar, the restaurant of star chef Pedro Miguel Schiaffino, offering contemporary flavors that blends with the Peruvian roots of the chef, with the influence of his Cuban grandmother. Tonight, a “dine around” at Lima’s fine restaurants. BLD

DAY 3: Discovering the Moche: Lima / Trujillo / Lima Morning Private Air flight to Trujillo. En route, weather permitting, fly over the Sacred City of Caral, and Huasacaran National Park (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Visit Chan Chan (UNESCO World Heritage Site), the largest adobe city in the world, the Pyramid of the Moon, and drive through Trujillo, “City of Eternal Spring.” Enjoy a private Ceviche demonstration by Leoncio Rojas Gallardo, winner of Peru’s National Ceviche Contest. Then, flight to Chiclayo for a Private Guided Visit of the Royal Tombs of the Sipan Museum, where the single richest cache of gold and jewelry ever excavated in Peru is exhibited. Dr. Walter Alva, the archeologist in charge of the dig and the museum founder conducts the private showing.* Return flight to Lima. BL

DAY 4: Lima / Arequipa / Cuzco / Sacred Valley Private Air flight from Lima to Arequipa; view the Colca Canyon and volcanoes – a few may still be active! Walk through the historic center of Arequipa (UNESCO World Heritage Site), and visit the Convent of Santa Catalina. Lunch at the 100-year-old Sol de Mayo restaurant. Then, a flight over the scenic Andes to Cuzco. Upon arrival, descend to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Tonight, stargazing of the southern skies – several constellations can be seen. DAY 5: Day of Diversity at the Sacred Valley Today, your choice of activities – horseback riding, mountain climbing, whitewater rafting or hiking. Or, visit Pisac, the Inca religious site with its Indian market. Lunch at the 1916 Hacienda Orihuela. On to the Maras Salt Mine with its multi-level network of canals and salt pools. Tonight, an exquisite a la carte dinner at the hotel followed by a private “coca leaf reading” by a local Shaman. (BLD)
DAY 6: Sacred Valley / Machu Picchu / Cuzco Tour Ollantaytambo. Walk through the ancient town and fortress to learn about urban design, agricultural planning, military strategy, astronomical knowledge and religious beliefs during the Inca Empire. Then, transfer to the train station to board the Orient Express “Hiram Bingham” train to Machu Picchu (UNESCO World Heritage Site) – Inca Pachacutec’s masterpiece of environmental architecture is now a historic and spiritual sanctuary. Different options of discovery of this marvel are available for you. After High Tea at the famed Sanctuary Lodge, return aboard this extraordinary train to Cuzco. En route, a four-course Gourmet Dinner is served. Check into the award-winning Monasterio Hotel, managed by Orient Express. DAY 7: Cultural Encounters - CuzcoBreakfast at the hotel, renowned as the “best buffet breakfast in the Andes”. The guide to the Farmers Market is also your chef for lunch today! . Then explore the historic center of Cuzco (UNESCO World Heritage Site), or visit to the Sacsayhuaman Temple and ruins. A visit to the Pre-Columbian Art Museum is followed by a “Noveau-Andean” lunch. End the day with a visit to the Colonial landmarks of Cuzco or enjoy the private hospitality of artist Octavio Mendivil at his studio, the sculptor is renowned for the disproportionate shapes of his figures. DAY 8: In Search of the Gods - Cuzco / Nazca / Lima Morning flight aboard your Private Airplane to Nazca; continue to the Cantayo Hacienda Hotel, your headquarters for the day. Depart on a flight that takes you over the mysterious and miraculous giant figures known as the Nazca Lines (UNESCO World Heritage Site), visible only from the air. Return to the hotel for lunch and for a refreshing swim at the properties infinity pool. If additional adventure is on your mind, we suggest Sand Dunes Buggy Adventure or Sand Boarding at the deserts’ famous mountain-high dunes. We depart Nazca by private air to Lima. Tonight a Special Dinner at Astrid & Gaston Restaurant. Hidden discreetly in a small house, the restaurant is decorated by the creations of local art students. Through the open kitchen. Gaston the owners can be seen cooking with his staff. The menu might be called “Creole-Mediterranean” with light Peruvian touch. (BLD)
